BSSG IMPACT IN THE COMMUNITIES: When considering the economic, social, and
health challenges facing everyone during the two years of covid-19 pandemic. It is no
surprised that people from disadvantage/marginalized communities are more adversely
affected. During the financial year of 2021 -2022, against all odds, BSSG has managed
to support grassroot individuals and families in Ipswich, Beckrow, Bury St. Edmunds,
Mildenhall and Suffolk surrounding areas in the following ways.
40 elders (from 50yrs onward) received £100 funds, pay directly to them for Gas
and electricity payment during the second phase of Covid-19 outbreak making
£3000 in total given residents in Ipswich and its district with BSSG support.
850 Food Parcels supplied in this financial year 2021-2022 to individuals &
families experience financial hardship caused during the pandemic. These
groups vary from BME communities to homeless individual, people with long-term
illness and many more.
248 families with dependent children received Covid-19 Hardship payment
totaling £6,814 paid to them via BSSG support toward utilities bills, council tax, rent
and food vouchers and many more.
50 young people aged (4-16+) benefitted in our swimming lesson project that
BSSG paid for them and 70 young people were supported with Bus fares via
household Support funds across Ipswich and Suffolk.
20 Volunteers joined us in this financial year to support us across all our projects.
Volunteers were equipped with adequate skills and training in our youth group
project, food pantry project, monthly gathering and drop-in-session projects. Through
the skills they’ve acquired via BSSG – 10 of them has secured paid employment.
£7,180 funds secured for Families via Rope Trust Organization, which was paid
directly individuals and families towards School uniform, Household items, dental
cost via BSSG support.
£8,854 funds paid directly to 120 families and individuals via Household support
fund scheme with BSSG support team.
